Be happy being you

My mother always told me that if I didn’t love myself noone else would and as an adult I’ve come realize she’s right.
We all have good and bad points. The trick is being honest to ourselves about who we are and how our actions impact on others. If your happy with your own behavior then other peoples opinions don’t really matter.
To make other people believe you matter then you have to matter to yourself. Which means removing toxic people from your life. Anyone can say they care but judge their actions, what do they say? If someone is behaving in a way that makes you feel bad about yourself, that isn’t love.
It’s time to take the plunge and realize you can do it for yourself. You don’t need other people to validate you, you can do that for yourself.
Take five minutes everyday to congratulate yourself on something you feel you did well. Start a ritual at least once a week where you pamper yourself. Eat your favorite food, luxuriate in a scented bath, watch your favorite program.
Refuse to accept poor behavior from others. Recognize your own strengths and be proud of them. Everyone has a talent, discover yours. It might be a physical talent such as painting or it might be an emotional talent like an ability to put people at their ease.
We are all unique and special in our own way. When you learn to love yourself then others will love you the way you deserve.
