twas the night before Christmas …..

Not a creature was stiring…. Great poem but not true in our house. The horses are busy eating, the pigs are foraging in their beds. The cats are playing with the Christmas tree decorations and the dogs are camping in front of the cooker guarding the turkey.
The idea got me thinking and at no point do we ever get to silence and no stiring in our house.
We are a very active noisy family and I have a tendency to stay up all night writing so the television is always blaring and music is constantly playing.
What ever your home life is like. I would like to wish you a very merry Christmas and a very happy and prosperous new year.

Should fiction influence society

Today I was asked my opinion as to whether I believed fiction should influence society.
I believe fiction has a lot of uses it can be a reflection of current times, a political comentary. A warning signal for conspiracy theories, it can in some circumstances start a revolution.
But fiction is more than that. It’s a way to escape, to live lives you’ve only dreamed of. To experience adventure, overwhelming passionate encounters. Have a chance to stop the bad guys and save the world all from the comfort of your own living room.
In my opinion novels should make you dream.
if I manage to bring readers in to my world for a few hours I will have achieved everything I aspire to do.

The Twisted Path Group

My lips yearn for a soulful kiss
Fresh as mown grass that tastes as sweet
Your strength comes as the night settles
It falls as I do time and time again
To my knees, dusk surrounds us
I want you to show me the darkness in your embrace
As I withdraw into the shadows
Would you take my hand?
Let me not fade back to my comfort
But lead me forward, into the trees
Into the meadows, to run
To Feed and feast, to lay and love
And fade in the rising sun

Love me, hate me but don’t guess who I am

There is nothing I dislike more than prejudice.
I really don’t mind if people like or dislike me but please get to know me before you decide.
Don’t look at the colour of my hair and skin and guess where I’m from or assume you know how I think because of my address, religion or interests.
Everyone is an individual. We are not mass produced in the same moulds or born with identically produced brains.
Stop reading the hype in the newspapers and think for yourself. You might find that you make lots of interesting friends.

G9P3A3…..My Book has been Published!

Musings by LORIEB (Lor-ee-be)

I started writing this book many years ago the first time I was pregnant.  My doctor urged me to record my thoughts in a journal when the first pregnancy ended in stillbirth.   Years, many pregnancies, and much more gray hair later, I came across the journal while cleaning one day and decided to transfer the thoughts to my computer.  Just recently, at the urging of a friend who happens to be a new author, I checked out createspace, a website designed to help people publish books.

Createspace was very easy to use, and cost me nothing.   You can choose to pay for upgraded details (covers, editing help etc) but the basic, free version is what I used.   They create and promote the book and only print what is purchased online as they are purchased.  You decide the price you want to charge and then receive a royalty…
