Man up and get tested!

Sexually transmitted diseases (STD) are not only for the young or promiscuous. They can be caught, anytime, any place, anywhere, by anyone who has sexual contact with a person who is already infected. Because so many people refuse to face up to that fact and seek medical intervention the viruses continue unchecked from person to person.
Before we go any further, please be very clear that there is no such thing as an STD that doesn’t damage your health and wellbeing. It definately will not go away by its self and even if the symptoms begin to wain you are still contagious until you complete the appropriate medical treatment. Witch doctors, praying or hiding your head in the sand, don’t work as alternatives.
I’m too embarrassed to seek help, I hear you say. What will the doctor think of me? He or she will think you are a responsible person, who’s doing the right thing and taking care of your own health and the health of future partners. So embarrassment is not a reason to put it off. If you’re old enough for sexual exploits, you’re old enough to take responsibility.
I’m not going to list all the types of STDs or their symptoms. You can find images and descriptions easily with Google.
What I will say is your physical health is directly linked to your mental health. Look after both, stay safe, be prepared and if you think you have a problem, Man up! Get tested!
