Finding the right partner

People will tell you love is a lottery. You can’t choose who you fall in love with and a million other twee phrases, but it’s not actually true. Falling blindly in to love for most people just leads to disappointment. The reason for that is in reality we all have our own personal requirements and expectations for ourselves and prospective partners.
So now it’s time to date smart. Make a list of the things that matter to you that you’re not prepared to compromise on, for example if your an avid pet lover. There is no right or wrong to this, its your personal feelings. I have a phobia about long dirty nails so good grooming is high on my list.
Once you have a list of apsolutes, think about the things you are willing to compromise on. No one is ever going to have an apsolutely perfect partner but you can make sure that you date the kind of people you could build a future with.
Now consider the places you would be most likely to meet the kind of person you would be happy with. Join clubs, online groups with likeminded people. Don’t be afraid to try reputable dating agencies. Finding love is a very pro active endeavour, but at the same time don’t forget to continue living and enjoying your own life. People who get too hung up on finding love can be off putting to others. Develop yourself and your own interests happy in the knowledge that when you find the right person you will know and be ready.

  1. I think it’s very smart to do this. If you have a list of things you won’t compromise and things you are willing to compromise on, it’ll make it easier to find a partner worthy of the standards you expect. Awesome post!
